Sow America is a non profit 501c3 corporation based out of Montgomery, Al that tackles food insecurity and food deserts in a new way, by installing “Urban Farms” in local communities and by diverting organic waste (such as food scraps, lawn waste, and paper) in a way that returns nutrients and beneficial bacteria to the soil (compost). By putting urban farms or community gardens in local communities, we help the immediate economy while improving health (physical, spiritual, and emotional). By diverting organic waste material, we are helping reduce landfill waste, combating climate change, and connecting with the local community. We grow entrepreneurs who want to make a change in their immediate area.

We build gardens by diverting food waste to make compost and using that compost to encourage people to start gardens and businesses.
