We are Watson Broadcasting LLC of Pensacola aka WBQP TV located at 312 East Nine Mile Road, Suite 29D, Pensacola, Florida 32414. WBQP TV is a full-service and full-market 24/7 hours Over-The-Air, Streaming, and Internet television station. We are the only Urban TV station in the entire market and we are African American-owned and formatted. WBQP TV is independently owned by Vernon and Mary Lynn Watson and signed on the air in June 1992 and was the first African American-owned TV Station on the Gulf Coast and was the first “WB” (Warner Bros.) Television Network affiliate in the market. WBQP has been broadcasting locally on VHF Channel 12 for the past 30 years in the greater Pensacola area. In 2022, WBQP leased a channel on a full-power television station WPAN channel 53.4 to get full market regional coverage. WBQP is now a full-market TV station and covers 12 counties in South Alabama and Northwest Florida in the Mobile/Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach DMA. The Mobile/Pensacola/ Fort Walton Beach is the 57th largest market in the country. WBQP broadcast ten sub-channels on VHF WBQP TV band Channel 12. and on UHF TV band on Channel 53.4. In 2023, WBQP TV begins broadcasting on WNHT Channel 4.1 in Birmingham, Alabama TV market which is the 45th largest market in the country. WBQP is also broadcasting digital content worldwide online on Over-The-Top (OTT) Streaming devices and Connected TV (CTV) devices and on Internet TV (ITV/IPTV). WBQP has its own App in the Google and IOS App stores for handheld devices. WBQP is broadcasting “live” online on Internet (IPTV) TV and on its website at https://wbqptv.com or https://wbqp.com. We are serving the Gulf Coast of Florida including Mobile, Alabama, Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, and Destin, Florida as well as the Greater Pensacola area including Milton, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Foley, Brewton, etc. We serve twelve counties in the DMA: Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Washington, Chatom, Clarkes, Monroe, and Conecuh Counties in Alabama; and Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties in Florida. We serve approximately 500,000 households over-the-air (non-cable) on VHF channel 12 and UHF channel 53.4 as well as Birmingham, Alabama. WBQP TV-12 is affiliated with several independent TV networks and has an excellent lineup of general and local programming. We have something for everybody, ranging from kid programming to adult programming. We offer eight digital channels.
