On Saturday, August 5, 2023, there was a meeting that many people attended, but there weren’t enough people who knew about it. This meeting was hosted by Northwest Florida Panhandle Coalition For Civic Engagement and Equal Ground in this meeting much of the new legislation was discussed. It was discussed to show how it will affect the black community in a way that we are not prepared for at this time.

Florida education officials approved new standards for teaching African American history Wednesday in response to the “anti-woke” policies touted by Gov. Ron DeSantis as critics urged the state to rethink the curriculum claiming that it “only presents half the story and half the truth.”
However, there are more laws you need to sit up and take notice of when it comes to what’s getting ready to come. Being informed is have of the battle.
