Peacefulness
There are many valuable things in life. One of the most overlooked, but most valuable is peace. Being in a state of peace is the presence of tranquility. However, Biblical peace is more than a state of tranquility, but rather the state of wholeness and completion.
When you are at peace, there’s the absence of the burden that worry produces. Being at peace doesn’t mean there’s an absence of concern, it simply means your trust in the outcome rests solely in your faith in God.
Sometimes you look for peace in all the wrong places. You may seek it in what others can do, your ability to work things out, or an escape via mind altering substances, such as drugs and alcohol.
You need only look to God for peace. Thankfully, He has freely given peace to those who believe. There’s one particular scripture which comes to mind that you can meditate on as your faith grows.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 KJV
It may be difficult to give up your usual coping strategies, but as you continue to study and meditate on His word, your faith in Him will grow and the gift of peace will surround you. It may even become your first response when trouble arises.
