I am Tina, Pensacola native and owner of Peace & Soul Candle Co. LLC. I create beautifully (and sometimes curiously) scented affirmation & situational themed candles that are inspired by African American culture .
Peace & Soul candles are hand poured in small batches, not mass produced like the popular brands you may be familiar with. Love is poured into every candle and special attention is given to the details.
Our candles are made with a creamy premium soy wax which burns much cleaner and slower than other waxes. What this means for you is less soot, if any, and a candle that burns an average of 50 hours. (Okay, that is 3 hours per burning sessions each. Not a marathon burn!! See our candle safety page.)
Candles not only set the mood, but they can be an important part of your own self care regiment. Candles have the same affect of a fireplace. Watching the flame is a form of meditation. You ever noticed how a person can appear to be in a trance while sitting in front of a fireplace or campfire. In addition to meditation, depending on the fragrance, the aroma can be very relaxing.
I am all about self care. I believe if you don’t love yourself first or take care of yourself, how can you expect someone else to. Although it can be hard at times, I STRIVE to keep a positive spirit. I feel good making others feel good about themselves. I have received several messages to my FB account from individuals thanking me for encouraging them and sharing motivating posts. Mind you, these posts weren’t directed to anyone specific, yet the message I shared was recieved and felt by many. (I think I’m tearing up because that means so much to me.) Making affirmation candles and situational candles allow me to expand my gift of positive influence. I enjoy doing that in a way that is relatable and speaks to my people.
