Taste of Pensacola was born during the pandemic shutdown. I’ve always supported local businesses, and I couldn’t fathom the thought of talented makers and bakers closing up shop. During this time, I made countless trips from shop to shop to pick up essential items, and I was amazed these small businesses were able to fulfill our needs (especially masks!) when Amazon wasn’t ready for the demand.
Then a light bulb went off. “What if I curated gift boxes featuring local vendors and built an online gift shop for vendors to sell goods online?!”
So that’s when it started: I created a one-stop-shop of Pensacola makers to create a new way of gift-giving that was more personal and memorable. I like to call it “a gift that gives back.”
After testing out the concept at pop-up markets last holiday season, and through many trials and tribulations, I officially launched the Signature Taste of Pensacola Box (aka #theorangebox) on August 19, 2021, at Shirley’s Cafe and Bakery, a local coffee shop, bakery, and deli and a ToP vendor in Pensacola, FL. This limited-edition box featured seven amazing local women-owned businesses in Pensacola.
Since the launch, 100% of my vendors have noticed an increase in social media followers, and 85% have noticed an increase in revenue by more than 50%.
My goal is to amplify small businesses that don’t have the marketing budget for extensive advertising to reach a wider range of clientele. Every time you gift through Taste of Pensacola, you support local small business owners.
Our curated boxes make gift-giving easier and more unique. Whether you’re looking for a closing gift for a client, an appreciation gift for a friend or colleague, or a custom corporate gift, we have a box for you.
